A Republic, If We Can Keep It
Join Us @Civic.Net in a Town Meeting for America, on Inauguration Day 1/20/2024.
It’s time again for We the People to in Town Meeting Assemble - to Proclaim This Aggression Will Not Stand, E Pluribus Unum, and Launch a Political Evolution to a Post-Partisan America of Town Meeting Democracy & Cooperative Economics.
On Oct 6, #DoSomethingDay, we called a Town Meeting, in Acton MA - birthplace of the First Minuteman Company to Cross the Old North Bridge in Concord - the first to die repelling the British Redcoats. Three days later, I attended a 250th birthday reenactment of the Massachusetts Provincial Congress, in Concord, where citizens of Massachusetts formed a new government for themselves, and sent representatives to the Continental Congress that Declared Independence & gave birth to our Republic. The event ended with Larry Lessig calling for Constituent Assemblies to shape policy and reengage citizens in our democracy. And we are doing just that.
In the wake of an election, as disastrous as that of 1860 - an election that threatens to again throw us into Civil War … and amidst a flurry of unfocused calls for Civic Engagement … it is time for We the People to Reclaim & Rebuild our Democracy.
We have 10 weeks and counting before Donald Trump takes office. We have no time to waste. It’s time to Stand Up for Democracy. Organize a Town Meeting in Your Neighborhood, and Select Delegates for a New Continental Congress for a New America on Election Day, Jan. 20 2025, at a location to be determined in Massachusetts.
